AICMEU’s J. R. Career Centre is a Computer education and Vocational training institute located at 1st Floor, Dharamshala Road, Imamwada, Mumbai – 400009. It has been established by AICMEU trust as part of empowering Municipal School education as the J. R. Municipal Secondary School No. 2 was adopted by AICMEU in 1996 to improve the educational environment. Along with improving the academic standards of the school, AICMEU has been also rendering services like remedial coaching and vocational training. Vocational training and computer education has been observed as an important means to empower those students who do not go for higher education. Thus in the year 2000 AICMEU established J. R. Career Centre to cater the need of such students through computer education and vocational training. By now this centre has helped over 1,000 student pass government recognized computer courses. In future it aims to provide standard computer education and training to around 600 students per annum.
AICMEU’s J. R. Career centre has been established in years with help of many individuals and organizations. The Governing Board of AICMEU put its thrust to establish it. The active office bearers and staff mobilized local supports. AICMEU trust hired the premise, local cooperator renovated the premise and with help of generous donors AICMEU provided basic computer hardware and software for education and training. With support from Central Government, AICMEU got recognized CAM – DTP centre to run one year diploma in Computer Application and Multilingual DTP. NCPUL provided the required hardware, software and financial resources for administrative expenses. The deficit budget has been met out with support from AICMEU trust.
Since 2000 AICMEU added ten more systems to enable the centre arrange some more courses. Thus beside conducting 12 monthly CAM – DTP course of NCPUL, the centre has been conducting CAO a six monthly recognized course by Government of Maharashtra in Computer Accountancy and Office Automation. To facilitate those who wish to learn fast, the centre has been conducting certificate crash courses. Through all these courses by now besides providing free basic computer education to over 400 students of J. R. School, AICMEU’s J. R. Career Centre has enrolled 1,320 students and successfully educated 1,066 students in different courses. The statistical report about centre is attached herewith.
AICMEU’s J. R. Career Centre has total built up area of approx. 2000 Sq. feet. Alhamdolillah beside well furnished labs and classroom with sufficient furniture and fixtures, it has all basic amenities to accommodate more students. At present it has following hardware and software stock to educate and train the students -
